A Delectable Evening At Panther Island Brewing’s New Smokin’ Panther Supper CLub

What better way to spend a Saturday evening than a beer and food pairing event that features some of the best brews and delectable food around? And that is exactly what Panther Island Brewing Company in Fort Worth, Texas gives you. A new event addition to the Panther Island Brewing schedule with this supper club being the second one hosted at their beautiful brewery with plans of hosting more as time goes on.

This supper club event was set up in their rustic designed back room where each guest was provided a four course dinner that was cooked up by a local favorite, Smokin’ Cactus Food Truck and it’s chef, Jordan Greenlee. Each course featured an Italian centric dish that was perfectly paired with one of Panther Island Brewing’s beers.

The event began with a welcome beer along with some socializing in the room followed by a short introduction speech by Panther Island Brewing’s owner and head brewer, Ryan McWhorter and Smokin’ Cactus’s chef, Jordan Greenlee. From there, they took the us out into the taproom/ brew house to tour the facility and explain a little bit about the brewing process, all of which was followed up with a sample of one of their still aging barrel-aged stout.

After the tour, everyone returned to the back room where the first course was served, a mouthwatering Parmesan butternut squash bisque with cherry smoked quail breast. The bisque was by far the best I have ever tasted with a full creamy body that was bursting with rich butternut and cherry flavors, and the quail was cooked to absolute perfection that just melted in your mouth. All of this flavor was paired with Panther Island Brewing’s Allergeez American wheat ale which helped enhance the bisque’s sweetness while balancing with the quail’s bold flavor.

The bisque was followed up by the second course which featured a cremini mushroom risotto. This was my first time trying this dish, and I have to say that I was absolutely impressed. Creamy rice that provided your palates with tangy tomato and creamy cheese flavors that paired up great with Panther Island Brewing’s War Chant American Amber Ale that featured nutty characters with hints of cherries and caramel.

Moving on to course three which was some homemade angel hair pasta soaked in lemon butter and roasted garlic topped with a filet of halibut piccata with bits of bacon. This dish was delicious with plenty of zesty, herbaceous, and buttery flavors with hints of smokiness and paired up well with Panther Island Brewing’s ALLTHEBRUT Tropical Brut IPA. The sweet tropical fruit flavors of the Brut IPA helped bring about a balance between the zest and smokey flavors while replenish the palates for the next bite.

The last but not least of the four courses was a delectable espresso infused chocolate-hazelnut semifreddo that was topped with whipped cream and fresh strawberries. Each bite was a flavorous entrance into a chocolate wonderland that was well balanced between the sweetness of the chocolate and the bold espresso flavor. This dish was paired up with Panther Island Brewing’s bold EOS Imperial Stout brewed with Vaquero Coffee Company’s cold brew coffee, which helped enhance the overall flavor of the dish that made for a perfect ending to a flavorsome night.
