One of the most famous breweries in Texas, Jester King Brewery originally began in 2010 with a focus on various styles of brews until their facility became contaminated, which ultimately led them down the road to becoming a full fledged farmhouse brewery. Now, they brew a delightful array of different sour and wild ales as well as numerous barrel-aged beers.
Sitting on 165 acres of spectacular views of rolling hills and various wild life and farm animals, including horses and goats. Among other things, they also provide walking trails with plenty to explore along with 100 different types of fruit trees covering a half-acre plot that include fig, pomegranate, plum, and apricot.
Vista Brewing has a remarkable set up with two modern-style barns that each house their own taprooms featuring different various styles of brews that include a black pilsner, American IPA, and farmhouse ale. Built on several acres of land that features rolling hills with a garden that grows several types of fruits and vegetables and bee hives that help pollinate the crops.
Not only is there amazing views and plenty of brews, but ample shade and a hell of a lot to do for both small and big people that includes swings, corn hole, and live music. They also provide fresh cooked foods using their own ingredients straight from their farm that features starters, main dishes, kid plates, and a little of everything else.
Not far from Vista Brewing, located in the rolling Texas hill country is Twisted X Brewing. Set up on several acres with a modern-style farmhouse housing brewing equipment and the taproom with a silo attached to the side. They brew up several different styles of beer with their core selection consisting of a lager, IPA, kolsch, and more along with a rotating tap in house.
Outside there is a nice little beer garden where you can enjoy the view of open fields and luscious trees and open air all while sipping on one of their several beers. To keep everyone occupied, they offer various games that include cornhole, giant jenga, weekly trivia as well as host various local artist.
Just east of San Antonio is Cactus Land Brewing. Opening their doors in 2017, this neat little brewery is set up on several acres of land that with plenty of awesome views and cattle to enlighten your senses. Operating in a rustic-style metal building that features a rusted up classic truck out front. A covered porch is laid out on the side of the brewery with tables and lights strung about and an awesome little wooden stage where local bands and artist play their best.
Inside the brewery is a rustic interior with old fashioned cooking utensils used as tap handles. Some of their intriguing brews that they provide, include a crisp pilsner, a smooth milk stout, and kettle sour beers. They also have various food trucks that serve up some delicious dishes to help appease those evening beer munchies.
Moving several miles north of Cactus Land Brewing is a larger operation located in New Braunfels-Five Stones Artisan Brewery. This brewery is set up inside a large metal building that consists of several fermentation tanks with lights strung throughout and artistic drawings of several of their different core beer labels outline the interior wall.
Outside there is plenty of room to roam with an abundance of trees that harbor various forms of wildlife. Several pieces of farming equipment are set up for everyone to admire while sipping on one of their several delicious brews that include several different IPA’s, a brown ale, smoked pumpkin beer, and a saison.
